Perfect Pairings // Magenta & Teal

Magenta and teal is not a color combination you often find in interiors, but I think it's done well in this case. I love all of the plush linen furniture, and that coffee table is amazing (also notice the large amethyst geode on the table!). One of the reasons I think the painting and the room are so successful is they both have enough neutral colors to balance out the bold shades of teal and magenta, creating a balanced, yet high-impact result.

I really love this colorful bedroom vignette - the bold, vibrant colors work so well together, and the deep cobalt/navy walls are gorgeous. I've been thinking about using a deep blue for a wall color, and this image really makes me want to pull the trigger. The watercolor abstract is another example of vibrant color done right. The aqua + blue + red + yellow combo is a good one.

I'm a huge fan of mixing brights with more muted colors. Though I haven't always been drawn to pastels, per se, they can add just the right amount of neutral backdrop for brighter, more dramatic color. Rather than going with the typical off-white, beige, and greige neutrals, layering soft pastels can make for a prettier, more interesting space.
