Happy Friday friends!
I'm excited to highlight one of my favorite new-to-me shops today - Uncommon Goods! If you're not familiar with them, they're an online marketplace that specialize in creatively designed, sustainable, and affordable products. Many of their offerings are also handmade and/or limited edition, and include everything from home goods, to gardening + cooking products, to decor, jewelry, art and accessories. Basically, it's a super unique collection of awesome products!
Not surprisingly, it's become one of my favorite places to find unique gifts, too. I actually received their catalog right before Christmas, and I remember thinking -- for probably the first time in my life -- that I wished I hadn't already finished my Christmas shopping! There were just so many great gift ideas in the catalog, literally something for everyone.
Anyway, since then, I've had my eye on a few of their items for myself, too - one of which is this awesome succulent living wall planter:
Uncommon Goods generously sent me the planter, and I'm totally obsessed! The kit comes with everything you need - the planter itself (made of weathered wood), with the moss & netting already attached, and 20 succulent cuttings. You get to arrange the succulents however you want (which was so fun!), and then once the roots are established, you can hang it up on the wall.
Seriously, I love this thing - it's almost like you get the payoff of doing a DIY project, without the annoying parts of gathering all the supplies (and inevitably forgetting something!), bulding the planter, etc.
Anyway, in addition to the succulent planter, here are a few of my other favorite picks:
1 // Hiking with George" art print - this print comes framed or unframed, and has such pretty shades of blue depicting the color gradations of the mountains in Aspen, CO.
2 // Astral Wall Hangings // $80 for set of 3 - These iron & brass decorative wall pieces would add such an interesting statement to a room or gallery wall.
3 // Kantha Blanket // $100 - These hand stitched blankets are made from vintage saris, and are completely one-of-a-kind! Choose between a cool or warm color palette when ordering, and receive a unique blanket!
4 // Cold Brew Coffee Kit // $36 - I've been wanting to try making cold brewed coffee for so long, but most directions/recipes I've seen have you soak the coffee grinds in a huge bin in the refrigerator, which isn't very convenient or practical. This kit allows you to make smaller batches, and I am totally intrigued.
5 // Corkcicle // $19.95 - For all of your white wine-loving friends, this is a great gift! Just freeze the corkcicle, and place it in the wine bottle to keep it chilled. Brilliant!
6 // DIY Hexagonal Chive Planter Kit // $15 - This fun little kit includes everything needed to make your own cement planter and small chive garden. Similarly, there's a DIY Round Sweet Basil Kit, too.
7 // State Birds and Blooms Art Print // $80 - Celebrate your local flora and fauna with these beautifully illustrated art prints. Each one features the state bird and flower, and is a great way to display state pride. They also sell a Birds and Blooms U.S. Map (that I can totally envision hanging in a vintage-themed nursery) and a Birds and Blooms Book with all 50 illustrations.
8 // Buddha Head Planter // $140 - This handmade planter would be such a unique addition to a garden.
9 // Upcycled Glass Tumblers // $45 for set of 2 - These handmade tumblers were made from upcycled beer bottles, and I love their shade of green.
10 // Teak Root Mirror // $150 - This handmade mirror has such an interesting and organic shape + texture... It would add a cool natural element to any space.
11 // DIY Cocktail Bitters Kit // $30 - This would be such a cool gift for your mixologist friends... comes with everything you need to make your very own bitters. On a similar note, these beer brewing kits look pretty awesome, too.
12 // Hand Stitched Guatamalan Pillow // $135 - I love a good pom pom pillow, and these are no exception!
In addition to having all around cool products, I love that when purchasing the handmade items, you're supporting artists + makers, both locally and globally. And even better, Uncommon Goods donates $1 from every purchase to a non-profit of your choice. Very cool. With a motto that reads "Creative Living, Mindful Giving", I know I'll be heading to Uncommon Goods lots in the future!
P.S. - If you're like me, you may already be on the lookout for a special Mother's Day gift, in which case Uncommon Goods has you covered! They've gathered some really cool ideas that you can check out HERE!
Have a Happy Weekend!
*Disclaimer: Uncommon Goods generously provided the succulent planter shown above, but the review and thoughts on their products are entirely my own... I'm clearly a fan!
