Today I'm sharing a Family Room design that I recently completed for a young family in the San Diego area. They just relocated from the East Coast, and were wanting to incorporate more of their own style into their new house.
My wonderful client, Ellie, was looking for an updated traditional space, with a relaxing, calming, and coastal vibe.

Ellie loves blues, greens, teals, and neutrals, so I made sure to incorporate plenty of those shades. I also included lots of wood tones and natural textures through the furniture and woven elements (rug, baskets, & side table), which also contributes to that coastal feel.
For the rugs, I layered a large natural fiber rug with a striped flatwoven rug - I really love doing this because not only is it softer and more cozy underfoot, but the extra layer gives the room a more collected, layered look.
This project is one of my favorites, and Ellie was an absolute delight to work with! I just love it when the design process goes smoothly from start to finish, and both the client and I are equally thrilled with the results... best feeling ever! I'm definitely excited to see how this space turns out.
