I've noticed that I've been so drawn to neutral spaces with black accents lately. Sometimes a completely neutral space with only shades of white and tan can be a little boring, so I like the contrast + drama that adding a little black provides.
Here are some spaces that have been really catching my eye lately:
Love those minimal black floor lamps and the black striped curtains.
The black picture frames are arranged in a sleek grid pattern, and the pillows add some black pattern as well. Sidenote - I think those IKEA Stockholm pillows may be the most versatile cushions ever.
I am obsessed with this slipcovered sectional. It's great-looking, but also has such a casual, cozy feel to it, too. I like that the black accents are subtle here - in the pillow patterns and the tripod floorlamp in the background.
Black curtains add instant drama, and I think they work well in this room because it's so light and bright everywhere else. I also like the addition of the black cabinet and the black lamp shade...
This room has a whole lot of black going on, but it's balanced nicely with the oversized white lampshade, bright white walls, and warm wood floors.
I'm usually not a huge window valence fan, but these black ones look nice and modern, especially against the bamboo blinds. I also love that the black valance works so well with that great wallpaper, and the addition of the black lamp shades is the perfect finishing touch.
This is another subtle use of black, but I absolutely love the way the table legs, Eames rocker, and black vase contrast with all of the lighter tones in the room.
One thing I noticed about all of these spaces is the black accents are balanced with plenty of white, wood, natural tones/textures, and greenery - plants just make every room better!
Happy Thursday!
