I'm really drawn to the look of large round mirrors in a room. I think it's because they visually break up all of the straight lines you find elsewhere in a space.
The lines that come from walls, rectangular furniture, rugs, textiles, and in this case, fireplace mantels add a lot of straight, angular lines to a room, and I like that round mirrors add some curved edges to a room, while also reflecting light and brightening a room:
