Hello hello! It's been a while, but I wanted to pop in and share one of my favorite recent client projects. This one was really fun, partially because my client's tastes happened to be similar to my own, but mostly because she was a joy to work with!
Erica stumbled across my blog and contacted me after seeing this post featuring wall sconces in bedrooms... she was getting ready to redo her bedroom, and loved both the look + practicality of sconces instead of table lamps in the bedroom. She particularly liked the following spaces, and wanted to use them for inspiration:
Erica already had the gray bed, but wanted to incorporate lots of blues, neutrals, and whites. She also wanted the overall feel to be relaxing, airy, modern, and a little boho, with plenty of natural hues + textures. Here's what I came up with:
SOURCES: Capiz Chandelier / Black Sconces / Antiqued Moroccan Mirror / White Curtains / Nightstands / Jute Rug / White Moroccan Souk Rug / Gray Bed / Indigo Print Coverlet / Gray Stripe Lumbar Pillow / Blue Paisley Pillows / Flower Arrangement / White Vase / Gold Spheres
The blue textiles, combined with the large scale art over the dresser are the main doses of color, while the main pieces are predominantly whites, browns, grays and neutrals. I still absolutely love that white Moroccan rug from West Elm, and find myself recommending it all the time - it's just so plush, soft, and chic, which works beautifully in a bedroom.
I also love placing mirrors over nightstands to open up a space, and this works particularly well when the mirrors are combined with wall sconces, since they won't be covered up by table lamps. These mirrors from Wisteria have such a pretty shape to them that balances out the clean lines of the nightstands. Anyway, such a fun project, and I so enjoyed working with you, Erica!
Happy weekend and Valentine's Day, all!
